Hoop Stars offers basketballers of all abilities the opportunity to play in a relaxed, casual atmosphere.
It provides an alternative basketball outlet for people to play, keep fit and build positive relationships on and off the court and in doing so raise awareness and finances for people less fortunate than we are.
Hoops Stars is for anyone with an interest in basketball (Current events aimed at Men 16+)
There is an active community of more than 140 people and we are constantly growing.
Founded in 2011 by 6 people who no longer had the capacity to commit to social basketball on a weekly basis but still wanted an opportunity to play casual basketball with friends. These founding members had a passion for contributing to social justice causes and charities in our community.
Hoop Stars was born on a Monday night at Edwardstown Baptist Church with each player contributing $5 to play. After covering court hire and running costs, all other monies are given to a charity or cause, including the sponsorship of a young boy in Cambodia through World Vision.
